MOROCCO PLAY · GAME GUIDE

Ronda

Match cards on the table, capture a sequence and declare Ronda or Tringa. This Moroccan card game rewards careful timing: a table-clearing Misa, an immediate Darba and the last capture can change the score.

The deck & deal

Ronda and Kdbti: 40 cards, four suits, ranks 1–7, 10, 11, 12. Sotta: remove three 10s; keep the 10 of Coins (37 cards). Ronda: 1v1 deals 4 cards each five times; 2v2 deals 4, then 3, then 3. Teammates sit opposite. The non-dealer starts; the table begins empty and stays between deals.

Capture & points

Play one card. A match captures your card, all matching table ranks, then one card per consecutive higher rank, stopping at a gap. No match: leave your card. Misa clears the table: +1. Immediate same-rank Darba: second card +1, third +5 replacing the previous +1, fourth +10 replacing +5. Misa remains separate. A possible counter-hit must resolve before a provisional Darba win is final.

Declarations

Declare and validate before breaking the pair or triple. Ronda: pair = 1; Tringa: triple = 5. Highest Ronda takes the combined Ronda values. Tringa beats Ronda; a valid opposing Ronda adds its 1 point, so Tringa plus one opposing Ronda pays 6. When Tringas compete, the lowest Tringa wins the combined valid declaration values. Unvalidated declarations expire.

Finish the hand

Last successful capturer takes leftovers. Non-dealer last capture: capturer +5. Dealer last capture with 1: opponent +5, no deduction from dealer. With 12: dealer +5; other ranks: no bonus. Captured cards above 20 earn 1 each; teams combine cards. Scores carry across hands to 41. At 20, Df3 Sghir is a milestone. A selected race requires that number of match wins.

A hand in practice

For example, play a 5 when the table has a 5, 6, 7 and 10. You capture the matching 5 and continue through 6, 7 and 10, because this deck has no 8 or 9. If those are the last table cards, Misa adds a point. A 6 with no matching 6 stays on the table instead.
